As a healer I've studied and used many powerful techniques which produce profound results. I've also observed in other healers and have been guilty myself of searching for the magic bullet, the one technique or group of techniques which will make it impossible for a person not to heal. I like so many healers, care for my clients so much that I've found myself attached to the outcome from time to time, of thinking that if I do a certain thing just the right way my client will have no choice but to miraculously get over whatever was causing their pain or illness. That said I can confidently tell you that technique is not the key to healing. As a matter of fact, in most cases, technique really doesn't matter.
The purpose of any healing technique is to get the person facilitating the healing (commonly known as the healer) and the client in alignment with connection. By connection I mean the connection between the healing facilitator and the client. I also mean the connection of the two to the source of all healing, whether that entity or energy is known as life-force, god, the angels, infinite intelligence, spirit or any number of other terms. Technique helps us focus this connection toward the intention of healing, but the connection is the most essential part of the process.
Reiki connects us by opening the healer to the flow of universal life-force. Quantum-Touch does it by helping the healer raise their energy level. Other techniques do it by encouraging deep states of restorative rest. All that is truly required is the ability to center oneself, connect to the source, open to the possibility of healing and allow the power of the connection to work in a way that is in the highest and best interest of the client.
Perfect. I, too, out of compassion and love, have on occasion become attached to the outcome. Even though I have just reminded myself that it is for my client's highest good and without attachment to the outcome. We are caring human beings that know that the only way for one to heal is connecting to the source. I tell my clients, "I am the conduit, you are the lamp, I am the plug" This synchronicity enables the process of healing and the client does indeed become the healer.
ReplyDeleteActually you have precisely worded my thoughts, I did want to acknowledge your blog without just saying "I agree". It is a wonderful thing that we do. Love and many blessings to you my friend and mentor.
Susan, That is so beautifully put. I love your analogy of being the plug for the lamp. The beauty of human healing is that the lamp will eventually know how to plug itself in and light itself.
DeleteThank you Sandy for sharing a topic, I think most all of us have experienced this at some time in our practice. It is so important to keep in mind, as much as we would like to think healing is for everyone's highest good, it may not always be so. As we all chart our course before we arrive here, as healers it is so important to do our job and than get out of the way. Not to judge why a person heals or why one doesn't heal. We have to just trust that person's highest self knows what is best for them.
ReplyDeleteAs we plug in, we must also unplug. Plugging into the matrix and unplugging from ego. Once we are able to do this, we can serve our clients for their highest good.
Very well put Cynthia. Sometimes people don't heal in the way that we or they expect or perhaps want. Sometimes illness is present for a reason. The more we plug in the better we are able to facilitate whatever is in the highest good of the client.
